A surge of violence reported in the Republic of Congo prompted the Congolese government to admit they lost a number of government soldiers around the pool region to militants loyal to Frederic Bintsamou alias pastor Ntumi. Between the seventeenth and the eighteenth of this month, unconfirmed reports placed the figures at least eighteen soldiers dead.
